To be honest and fair in all our dealings, to be interested in people and their problems, and to act as though the clients needs were our own has been our pledge in our operations.

Our Agency was established in 1914 by Frank Briggs. In 1965, Reg Counsell and his wife Lib, both born and raised in Vermont, purchased the Agency and moved to Manchester. In 1980, their son, Merrick Counsell joined the firm.
In 1987, the Agency merged with the Fowler Insurance Agency, a fourth generation agency providing insurance to our area since 1859. Merrick and his wife Becky purchased the Agency in 1993.
While remaining a family owned business, our agency now includes a professional staff of five licensed insurance specialists and two service representatives.
We serve the insurance needs of about 2,400 individuals, families, and business concerns. Our office includes a comprehensive computer system for record keeping, claims processing, and personal lines rating. We also offer a homeowners appraisal service to our new and existing clients to determine the proper insurable value of their homes.
